Sharon's Country Quilting

     Update 4.2.2012
Last couple of weeks have been great weekends visiting relatives.   Two weeks ago we visited with my Brother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law in Lacon, IL.   We had a great visit which was long overdue. Also got to chat with their daughter. They have a shop at Bishop Hill, IL. where they home spinning with wool and make wool hooked items for the house; plus, make homemade brooms.
Will say we learned a lesson...which was don't leave your lights on during your visit.  On a Prius automobile.... only the driver's door turns off the lights or you physically need to turn the switch off.  In this case the Driver left the engine running for me to turn off....so the lights stayed on and on and on....  Remember with no battery power...no key power to open doors either...  Once opened you need to dig for the small battery to charge by a wrecker truck.   Lesson learned...driver is in charge!!!
This last Sunday was my Aunt's 80th Birthday party.  Good to see the cousins, also.
In between all of this I was able to finish a couple projects....  which are:

"Just Crawling Along on My Path"
4.1.2012

First one, I designed the block pattern which I call the quilt: "Just Crawling Along on My Path" in lavenders, greens, and off whites. Used the Green fabric for the
borders and backing with lavender.

"Sunshine Star Burst"

                                                       "Sunshine Star Burst"
This wall hanging measures about 16 by 18 inches.   Again the colors are lavenders, greens, yellow and whites.  It must be the favorite colors of the week. This was a paper piecing unit...may have to try this in different colors to see the effects the colors????

Tonight and the evenings through Friday...I am working on another quilt using my long arm machine, then with regular Bernina making child's apron or two, maybe some child bibs.   We will see how much I get done.....???  And it is so much like SPRING outside...to do gardening on top of all the other activies.            I will keep you posted.
