 Hi, Friends,
Below are a few of my 6 inch blocks I have created for my hubby's  Hobo quilt.  There are 55--- 6 inch blocks and so far I have 6 plus blocks done.  Still need to trim them before putting them together.   Good Start...each day I do one or more...to add to the creation.

Part I of the Hobo quilt

Also I started practicing threading painting art. This simple boutique is my first attempt at free motion thread painting. Still need more and more practice. I also have learned more techniques to try. Practicing this helps me feel more free at my sewing machine It is fun and addictive.   My second attempt with thread painting a chose the print from my late mom to do...
Enjoy,   Sharon

Hi, Quilters<
Wednesday, I attended my first Thread Painting Class.   I have tried to some practicing on my own but wanted more techniques or ideas to choose form.   And it is was such a thrill to go to this "Thread Painting" Class.  I learned so much that you just want to go home and practice practice to create a pieces of art.    As our teacher "Terre Klipsch" put it...each piece practiced is an heirloom for my grandchildren to appreciate my progress in this art form in quilting... Just can't wait to do more. thank you. Terre.  And I am looking forward to your Painting a Portrait Class.   I will be posting some pictures in the future of my progress.   It will be fun.

Have fun checking these out.

I am excited to be able to attend a "thread painting" class by Terre Klipsch on June 20th in Hills, Iowa at the Inspirations Quilts Shop.   I will have to keep you updated on projects I will be doing with her techniques.

Last night, May 18th in Waukon, Iowa we were able to have a wonderful evening seeing and visiting with our three grandchildren.  Since they live about 3 hrs away from our home, we don't get to see them as often as we want to.  So it is always a memorable moment when we are together.   This time it happened to be Diana's Annual Dance Recital..called "Gone Wild".
I found a design with a scenery of three ballerina's on a wall hanging that I pieced together for her. From her expression on her face she was surprised and also to find her picture on the back of it as a label
More pictures:

the original pattern: putting hair bows, nylon skirts,
different bodice with ribbon and shoe straps
WOW!   What a Picture!  We are not able to get together often.

Had a fun evening with the grand kids!

What a good feeling, completed this quilt in less than 2 days of quilting.  This is a beautiful graduation quilt done for a customer.   Customer made her top with a design with pieces of browns, golds and hints greens and blues squares/rectangles.   Since this was a gift for a young man, I randomly quilted circles and footballs shapes throughout the quilt.   The backing was black, so black thread worked great.

Randomly placed Circles and Footballs

Now I am off to do another quilting project....now it's a Long Cabin Quilt called Snake River Log Cabin Quilt for a Queen size Bed.    This Quilt is for my wonderful husband of over 40 years.   It will take me a little while to put it all the little 1.5 inch pieces all together to form the snake river appearance.   I will keep you posted with pictures of my progress of this quilt.
      Have a Blessed Day!

Wow, my Sally (the dolly) is up to it again.  She enjoys now setting on her new quilts in her old wicker doll chair.     This top picture is her new Crayon baby quilt.  The bright crayon colors are just gorgeous.   Even a child would enjoy this nearby as they color in their coloring book.
Sally is showing off her flying kite spiral quilt pattern.  The lavenders, pink and greens are perfect for her to show off.  This one is also her size..a baby quilt.

This "hand" is an idea I came up with to sign my quilts for my quilts for my grand kids or kids.  I use a permanent marker or quilt pen out line my hand with a note inside the hand with my signature and date or year it was made.
